Got Weight?

About a week ago my husband preached his trial sermon: “Go through with patience…God’s got your back”. I was amazed at the way the Lord used him to deliver a relevant message. One of the things he mentioned was ‘weight’. I know, right?? Weight? He went on to say many people will vow to loose weight and get healthy in the new year (that requires patience…), he asked the question what about your spiritual health? What spiritual weights are holding you back from moving to the next level with God?
Hmmm…I began thinking, what spiritual weights do I need to loose? How about procrastination? Negativity? My list went on and on!!
I decided to challenge myself this year to make “A  Radical Transformation”. I’m going to rid myself of the excess spiritual and physical baggage that is holding me back from attaining all God has for me. I have my goals set IN WRITING, for spirituality, family, health & fitness, and business. Follow me as I make this journey and please feel free to share your comments about your own lifestyle changes!

Reflections

As I reflect on all the opportunities 2010 had to offer, I must say I am grateful for them ALL. The year began with a celebration of praise and thanksgiving (Greater Christ Temple Church). It’s the way my family chooses to bring in each new year :-). The weeks that followed were full of promise and expectation. New hobbies for the kids; from karate to gymnastics, praise dancing, choir and many more in between. Then there was my journey to a healthier “me”. I completed my first extreme fitness routine; p90x. It was difficult, but so worth the end result…down 20 lbs! I didnt stop there, I went on with 2 other programs,Turbo Jam and my all time fav: Turbo Fire. I lost a total of 30 pounds!
Weight loss inspired me to evaluate other areas of my life. I took 2 fitness instructor trainings and began studying for the NSCA cpt. All good things must come to an end you say? Well, there were some bumps I encountered this past year as well. I was laid off at the end of Oct…such a bummer, but I did my best to focus on the positive. After all, I was searching for a new career in fitness. I must admit, I would have preferred to work on that goal part time! But, we all know God does everything in HIs time. When I think about all the tragedies and natural disasters that occurred all over the world, I can truly say overall, I had a Blessed year…and for that I say again I am Grateful!

Turbo Journey

I was so determined to become a certified Turbo Kick instructor that I decided to register last week. I had the Going for Gold dvd overnighted to me so that I could be better prepared. Now we’re off to Spokane (5 hour drive).

I’m excited to meet the trainer and other particiants. Many thoughts are dancing on my head right now. Let’s see how this goes!

Day 2-Shakeology Cleanse

So I made it through the first day. I devoured my salad w/grilled chicken last night. I never realized how much I enjoyed solid foods…lol. Anyway I am on day 2, had my green tea and first shake. I am kind of drained and a little irritable today. Hopefully that does not last all day. We shall see…
